Hi Woody, Thanks for sharing your gift. Your guitar work is truly awe inspiring. You are an American musical treasure and we are very proud to have you as our own. We will share you abroad occasionally, however, as long as we get you back home. Thanks for all your valuable time and patience. I’ll see you very soon. Always a pleasure.
I really enjoyed the workshop you held at the British Guitar Festival yesterday and your evening concert. My guitar, a Daion L999, has been a good friend and companion of mine since I bought her whilst serving in Honk Kong in 1970. Today, thanks to you, I feel refocussed having had an insight into how to get to the sound that inspired me to play the guitar all those years ago .
Many thanks for your inspiration and talent.
Robert
PS. Did you get to Crosby beach to see the Anthony Gormly statues?
Hi Woody!
Stevington, in the dark! Whod’ve believed that the village could stage such a memorable performance. I stood up at the back, to see just how some of the chord shapes were formed, but it was no good. A fresh tune almost every item left me none the wiser on fingering – except you seem to buy harmonics “wholesale” (they come in packs of two or three for us simple pluckers). MANY thanks for a wonderful evening – I suspect you got nearly as much pleasure from the atmosphere, as the audience did from the artist. A lifetime milestone for me. Woody Mann – he’s the guy that’s world-renowned……….. and then he came to Stevington. Respect!
Hi Woody,
Just checking in to say hi.
Hope things are well with you.
I am still working on the things you showed me in 1981 !!
I am thinking of going to your Dec Gary Davis if my shedule permits
Take Care, glad to see your still playing great!!
I just signed up for your upcoming seminar in NYC featuring the work of Reverend Davis and look forward to meeting you. I’ve learned a couple of your songs from your instruction videos and am a big fan.
Woody,
Kudos for the workshop sponsored by the Long Island Fingerstyle Guitar Club (9/21 at The Music Emporium in North Bellmore). The enlightenment level was your usual — bright and illuminating, but not blinding!
Ongoing thanks for not just the heart, good will and cheer you put into sharing and making the music more accessible (and thus, unbelievably, even better), but also the skill, thoughtfulness and hard work that goes into your teaching. You’re clearly rooting for your students to get it — and it helps. Regards, Tom (Playing Slowly, as advised!)
I saw you at the Turning Point a few months ago. I am interested in going to one of the NYC workshops coming up in December and January. I’ve learned most of the songs on your Bill Bronzy and Blind Blake DVDs and I’d like to continue in the blues variation theme. How many guitar players do you expect to have for the 2 NYC workshops?
Hi Woody,
I have purchased and studied your Acoustic Guitar Series and look forward to the forthcoming online lessons. I have been a big fan of Rev. Davis and Blind Blake for many years. Thanks for making this music accessible. Others persist in doing the one finger and thumb, which worked for the Reverend and Merle Travis, but I leaned to play with two fingers and my thumb.
Best wishes,
Bill

Hi Woody,
Looking forward to the Gary Davis documentary.
What is the future of OPS? I have seen so many great musicians there…
Thanks,
Tina

Hi Woody, looking forward to getting to another workshop someday. Or how about another instructional DVD. I need to learn Great Dreams.
