This workshop will focus on understanding fingerstyle blues guitar playing in a clear and direct way. Woody will teach practical ways to improve your picking technique and get the texture and groove of the music. These ideas will be illustrated through learning tunes from the repertoire of the master blues and ragtime artists including Scrapper Blackwell, Big Bill Broonzy, Skip James, Blind lemon Jefferson and others. This is a hands on, practical session for people who want to take alternating picking to the next level and learn some great tunes. The repertoire is different from Woody’s previous country blues workshops.
